About Bettina
Bettina here! Since I’m writing this myself I am not going to awkwardly do this in the 3rd person- does anyone else ever find that odd? If you’ve made it this far you likely want to know a little about me beyond what kind of services I can provide, so here we go.
I’ve been married to my wife Kristi for 13 years and we are pup parents to Mingo and Willi, two very adorable and spoiled Shih Tzu/Yorkie mixes (Shorkies, for those in the know). We live in Baltimore, Maryland and I am a lover of trees, good books, HGTV, and road trips. I love meeting new people and am an extrovert through and through. From my early college days as a Resident Assistant to my love of coaching (people, not sports), my happiest times are engaging with others.
After college, I worked in higher education and student affairs before transitioning to healthcare, where I worked for another 13 years. I currently serve as the Chief Inclusion officer and SVP of Talent, Leadership, and Culture at So Others Might Eat (SOME), an amazing non-profit organization in Washington, DC that serves the homeless. I have run my consulting business since 2016 and have worked with some really amazing organizations along the way. I love facilitating workshops and whether there are 10 participants or 1000, feedback consistently comes back that the time went by quickly and people had fun while learning.
In November of 2021 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, which definitely changed my world in all the ways you can imagine and many ways I hope you can’t. I’ve used the time since then to manage this disease, which included chemo, a double mastectomy, radiation, ongoing “chemo light” and medications to keep things at bay. I frequently say that if love could cure me I would be fine by now because the outpouring of support and compassion I have received has been incredible. I will never say that I am grateful for this diagnosis but I will say that I am grateful for how it has strengthened my relationships, presented new opportunities to be of service to others, and forced me to focus on taking care of myself, my health, and my needs in a way that I wasn’t great about before. If you are in the market for a trainer, speaker, or partner in growth and change, I’d love to connect.
Thank you for stopping by, I’m so glad you found me!
